A new award for emerging and early career artists working in the medium of outdoor sculpture.

Up to ten artists aged 18-25 (or within five years of graduating full time education) will be selected via open call to contribute work to a sculpture trail at Springfields, set in an acre of garden including water, wooded and grassy areas which backs onto a large park. Each participating artist will receive a £50 payment to assist with the costs of transporting their work.

The exhibition will be open for viewing over two weekends in August, with a private view event where the following prizes will be awarded:

1st Prize: £500

2nd Prize: £300

3rd Prize: £200

Artists working in all media are welcome to apply, but should be aware that this will be an outdoor exhibition and the area is home to inquisitive wildlife.

While you are welcome to submit proposals or works in progress, we are unable to provide additional funds to support production.

Participating artists will be chosen by a small selection panel, and the winning artist will be chosen by Alex Billingham, Vicky Roden and Viv Astling.

Artists will be required to install their work in the week before the first opening and then derig their work in the week following the closing weekend.

Artists are invited to show work for sale, however all sales are entirely the responsibility of the artist and no commission will be sought by Springfields.

Work is installed at the artists own risk and as such artists are responsible for insuring their work.
